Solusi yang cute untuk anak anak yang baru belajar makan. Kebanyakan restoran di Jakarta tidak pernah menyediakan cutlery khusus untuk anak anak, jadi suka kasian deh kalau anak aku yang baru 2.5 th ikutan makan pakai sendok garpu yang terlalu besar buat dia, salah salah tersedak lagi. Combi Spoon set di atas saya beli di Debenhams kids seharga Rp 40.000,- Bentuknya lucu dan senang sekali ada casingnya, yang memudahkan membawanya ke mana mana.

Sepatu Keds untuk anak perempuan di atas ini di design oleh seorang rock poster artist Eleanor Grosch, yang terkenal dengan designnya yang whimsical dan colorful... definitely a fashion statement. Just dump that Crocs and let your kids show off these gorgeous pumps!

Owl everywhere

Kadang saya bosan sekali melihat tema untuk kamar anak yang itu itu saja, seperti teddy bear, bunga bungaan dll. Tapi belakangan ini ada beberapa tema yang cukup menarik untuk dijadikan tema anak seperti gambar di atas ini. Burung hantu yang cute rasanya cukup bisa jadi alternatif untuk hiasan hiasan di kamar anak, apalagi setelah burung hantu putih yang di populerkan oleh Harry Potter jadi satu hit di kalangan anak anak ("mom, I want an owl pet..)

High School Musical for toddlers?

Apa sih yang membuat film ini sukses banget di antara ABG-ABG, dan terakhir ini .. diantara para mommies yang dengan semangat 45 memutarkannya untuk anak anak balita mereka.
Saya sendiri jadi penasaran, dan baru minggu lalu berhasil membeli sekaligus dua dvd High School Musical tsb.
Anak saya sendiri (4.5 th) memang hobby banget berdansa dansi mengikuti Hi-5, dan saya pikir mungkin film ini akan sama efeknya. Tapi ternyata ngga juga tuh.. filmnya sendiri sih super sweet (with extra sugar), mengingatkan jaman jaman dulu waktu masih innocent hehe, tapi untuk anak saya rasanya masih belum nyampe tuh.
Dia masih belum bisa mengikuti jalur ceritanya (yang memang terlalu advance buat dia sih), dan cuma mau nonton kalau ada lagu lagu yang ceria.
Anyway, jadi maminya deh yang kebagian nonton sampai habis.

Minggu lalu dunia usaha digemparkan oleh beberapa perusahaan mainan ternama yang terpaksa menarik kembali produk produk mereka yang ternyata terbukti berbahaya untuk anak anak.
Beberapa diantaranya adalah:

1. Dari Mattel : Barbie and Tanner.

Magnet yang terdapat pada ujung stick yang dipegang Barbie, dapat lepas dengan mudah dan jika lebih dari satu magnet tertelan oleh anak kecil, dapat mengakibatkan efek yang fatal pada organ bagian dalam.

2. Dari Mattel: The Batman™ Magna Battle Armor™ Batman™ figure with model number J1944

Masalahnya sama dengan yang diatas, magnet yang terdapat dalam mainan tersebut dapat membahayakan anak kecil yang menelannya.

3.Fisher Price juga menarik kembali ratusan ribu mainan seperti Elmo dan Dora yang mengandung kadar timbal yang membahayakan bagi anak anak.

Yang lebih heboh juga, salah seorang subcontractor dari Fisher Price yang bertanggung jawab atas penarikan besar besaran ini telah ditemukan bunuh diri di gudang pabriknya di Cina

Agak bikin stress ya... bagaimana caranya untuk dapat melindungi anak anak kita dari bahaya bahaya di atas.

Cotonnier not Cottonier

Lately I have discovered that alot of people had trouble in finding Cotonnier baby and kids room website. The reason is that most of us are not familiar with French's spelling, and 'Cotonnier' is one of them. Well folks..., I hope that this posting will clear the matter, please remember that Cotonnier (a French word for cotton tree) is using one 'T' and double 'N', if you try Cottonier you will end up in someone else's page.

Alun Alun Indonesia

Baru saja kemarin ada kesempatan untuk datang ke Grand Indonesia untuk melihat Alun Alun, sebuah konsep department store baru yang menawarkan beragam hasil karya anak Indonesia.
Letaknya sendiri ada di lantai 3, tepat diatasnya Seibu, dan saya suka banget melihat children cornernya. Di sana Alun Alun menawarkan beberapa mainan kerajinan yang terbuat dari kayu dan kain batik, dan juga ada baju baju unik dari Cita, Bin house, Didi Budiarjo, Bubble by Sebastian G dll. Harga bajunya sendiri berkisar antara Rp 150.000 sampai Rp 750.000. (agak kurang friendly harganya ya...:)
Anyway, kalau mampir kesana jangan lupa menengok play cornernya, yang menawarkan beberapa permainan anak tradisional seperti lompat karet, congklak, bekel dll....sedih amat ya mau main bekel aja mesti ke mall.

For those fashionholic fanatics, you must have known that Marc Jacobs had finally launched his children line. (so that those little tots would look as classy as their mommies wearing their own Marc's )
The above pic is the luxurious gift box called "The Little Marc Box" recently launched exclusively in Colette Boutique Paris.

Expensive Kidzania!

Just heard a gossip from a few (yes, not one but a few) people that Kidzania in Pacific Place is going to be expensive! Oh No....
I heard that they are planning to charge Rp 500.000,- for the entrance fee per kid..!!! and they are probably going to affiliate with some credit cards which can give a special price of Rp 400.000,-
Don't they realize that a lot of people have more than one kids...! Imagine that I have to fork out Rp 1 mil for a few hours of fun there, for my two tots.
If that is the case, I don't think that it would be a weekly destination for most parents, I really hope that they can figure out the best price for this long awaited entertainment center.
My guess is Rp 150.000,- is just nice, what do you think?

L'Oreal Kids Shampoo

I'm one of those mums who loves to try new toiletries product for their children. But not a fan of expensive ones of course. In Jakarta there are plenty of brands to try, you can find them easily at major supermarket and baby specialty stores (yes, including Mangga Dua).
Lately I found that Huggies released locally produced shampoo and baby wash, priced quite reasonably at about Rp 13.000 for 200ml bottle. It's quite okay I guess, my only complaints was just that the shampoo and baby wash is too watery.
Then I was tempted to try L'Oreal kids shampoo for my daughter, though it is more expensive ( about Rp 40.000 ), I was attracted at the cute packaging and at the fact that it is a two in one shampoo (plus conditioner). So far so good, the kids loves the packaging, the smell is nice and the conditioner actually worked.

There aren't many online shop around in Jakarta web community, but this little baby shop is worth checking out! With cute T-shirt that says "Bunda's shopping partner" and "ASI is the breast", this site just hit the soft spot on every moms.
And they even take cute pictures on every kids who visited their store and posted it on their blog. Sweet!

Machiko Manga School

I just love Japanese comics. And if your children shows some talent in their drawing class at school, it will be fun to take it to another level. Machiko Manga School is founded by Machiko Maeyama, a japanese lady who was a professional manga artist back in Japan.
The school covers most of the basic in manga drawing and they even encourage local talent to debut their works in Japan and Indonesian publication.
